Overview

CMC is currently delivering critical upgrades to a 7 km section of the Warrego Highway between Miles and Roma, a key freight corridor. The scope includes pavement widening, culvert replacements, and stabilisation, all being carried out under live traffic conditions with comprehensive traffic management in place. In response to unforeseen geotechnical challenges, CMC collaborated closely with TMR to revise the pavement design, implementing a triple-blend stabilisation with lightly bound plant-mixed material to enhance the asset’s long-term durability.

Highlights

Community: Positive engagement with local farmers, including repurposing the borrow pit as a sustainable water resource for cattle.

Sustainability: Adoption of solar-powered caravans, lighting towers, and traffic lights to minimise environmental impact.

Client Collaboration: Established a strong working relationship with TMR representatives through open communication and collaborative problem-solving, particularly in addressing pavement design and staging challenges.
