Overview

Nugrow is Queensland’s largest organics waste recycler by volume and geographic reach. The company contracted CMC to undertake a range of construction works as part of their new Bundaberg Composting and Recycling Facility at Tardas Road, Gregory River, 16km north of Childers.

The project involved the construction of a leachate storage dam in combination with a water retaining embankment in the northwest corner of the site. In addition to the storage dam, CMC also constructed several access roads, a concrete liquid waste unloading bay, stockpile pads and delivered upgrades to 500m of Tardas Road.

Highlights

Sustainable Impact: The completed facility will process approximately 30,000 tonnes per year of organic waste from the Wide Bay region – waste streams that would have normally gone to landfill. The products produced on site are used in agricultural, soil rejuvenation and landscaping projects.
