Scope comprised both road and bridgeworks to increase creek crossings to Q100 flood levels – ensuring safer access across Tamborine and Wongawallen Creeks, and mitigating the risk of community isolation from flood.
The upgrade has improved sight distances for drivers, enhanced traffic flows, provided safe parking, and reduced instances of wildlife road trauma. Construction involved two, two-span 50 metre concrete bridges, earthworks, hard rock piling, drill blast operation, drainage works, guardrail installation, rural fencing, and surfacing.
