NBRC Multi-Site Transfer Station Development Project


CMC were engaged by North Burnett Regional Council (NBRC) to undertake construction works at the Biggenden, Gayndah, Eidsvold and Monto Waste Facilities. Works included:

  • Clearing, grubbing and tree removal
  • Cut to fill/ Import to fill
  • Landfill capping
  • Gravel pavements placement
  • Waste Station Construction included
  • Piling
  • Concrete Base Slabs
  • Blockfill Retaining Walls
  • Handrails
  • Bin Flaps, and
  • Wheel Stops
  • Desilt existing drainage channels
  • Install new drainage including reinforced concrete pipes
  • Construct open drains
  • Relocation of waste facility site offices and other structures
  • Drum muster relocation
  • Permanent signage

The much-needed upgrade of the waste transfer station facilities not only provide better safety and access for the public, the upgrade also allows costs savings to the North Burnett Regional Council by facilitating easy collection and transport of the region’s waste to the much larger operation at Mundubbera.

CMC worked closely with the council to provide the best ‘bang for their buck’ outcomes by working with existing materials, engaging several local contractors to assist with the works, and limiting the disruption to the public.
