Overview

This project included the upgrade of approximately 1.8 km of the Pacific Highway at Ourimbah from south of Ourimbah Street to north of Walmsley Road. This section of the Pacific Highway was a two-lane, two-way carriageway and was reconstructed to a median separated four-lane, two-way road.

Works involved the reconstruction of signalised intersections, a shared pedestrian and cycle path on the western side of the highway, demolition of two bridges, and construction of three new bridges across Cut Rock Creek.

Highlights

Community Engagement: CMC developed strong relationships with the residents and businesses that were adjacent to the project through consistent engagement and community liaison.

Problem-Solving: To minimise impact on motorists, two-way traffic access was secured through detailed traffic management planning. Relocation of major services including Telstra, Optus, Gas, NBN, Power, and Water assets were successfully carried out, as well as management of soft soil issues, which involved the installation of over 200 ground improvement columns.
