This project included the upgrade of approximately 1.8 km of the Pacific Highway at Ourimbah from south of Ourimbah Street to north of Walmsley Road. This section of the Pacific Highway was a two-lane, two-way carriageway and was reconstructed to a median separated four-lane, two-way road.
Construction involved the reconstruction of signalised intersections at Ourimbah Street, Teralba Street and Walmsley Road, a shared pedestrian and cycle path on the western side of the highway, demolition of two bridges and construction of three new bridges across Cut Rock Creek.
The scope of works included roadworks, utility relocations, bridge demolition, bridge construction, retaining wall construction and soft soil ground improvement works (controlled modulus columns). The project is directly adjacent to residents and businesses, community liaison and developing strong relationships was key to a successful project.
