Overview

CMC were contracted by TMR to widen and seal a section of the Bruce Highway, located south of Rockhampton.

The project involved 10km of newly constructed widenings and some full width sections to deliver safer shoulders, 1m wide centre line treatments and upgraded drainage structures, all within a two-lane constrained highway.

Highlights

Innovation: A variety of pavement designs were involved throughout the project, and success of the project relied heavily on the CMC’s fully engineered traffic innovation to optimise traffic management.

Problem-Solving: CMC encountered multiple wet weather delays and challenging subgrade conditions that had the potential to hinder project timing. Despite this, works were successfully delivered ahead of schedule.
