Overview

The Foleyvale Crossing Upgrade is being delivered as part of the Rookwood Weir Project, a landmark project by Sunwater that will capture valuable water in the lower Fitzroy River for use across the region.

CMC’s scope of work included the construction of a new rural road with earthworks, bridge construction, diversion channel works, rock protection and pavement work. Approximately 580m of rural bridge approach roads were also upgraded as part of the project, which was completed ahead of schedule and on budget.

Highlights

Sustainable Impact: There were no reportable environmental incidents throughout the project, with CMC successfully managing multiple flora and fauna restrictions, including declared weeds and the potential presence of crocodiles.

Collaboration: CMC successfully managed the traffic interface with the existing Apis Creek Road during the project, including managing significant heavy vehicle traffic associated with adjacent farming operations. There were no major community or stakeholder concerns received on the project.

Problem-Solving: The project navigated extreme temperature variations, with temperatures ranging from close to freezing during winter to 40 degrees Celsius.
