Banana Shire Council, NDRRA Road and Drainage Restoration Works – NDRRA 17 Event

CMC was awarded the Banana Shire Restoration works as part of the Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangement (NDRRA).

Scope

CMC commenced construction in mid-August 2018, with a scheduled project completion set for November 2018. Following the delivery of the initial scope of works, CMC received a variation to complete additional stabilisation and sealing works to the value of $4.1 million.

The total project including the additional scope received, covered a road network in the region of over 600 kilometres.

Major Quantities

  • 1000m3 of gravel for shape correction prior to stabilisation
  • 115,000m2 of insitu cement stabilisation, over 60 different sites
  • 500m3 of silt and debris removal from drainage, over 60 different sites
  • 140m3 of concrete batters to flood ways
  • 250,000L of bitumen to be sprayed
