CMC was awarded the West Street Channel and Goggs Street Package 41 contract as a part of Toowoomba Regional Council’s Flood Recovery Program.
Works on the project included widening and deepening the West Street channel, upgrading stormwater drainage along Goggs Street, and construction of two composite fibre footbridges. Finishing works also included landscaping and the upgrade of kerbs and footpaths.
Problem-Solving: CMC mitigated risk of washouts and scours while working within the constantly flowing waterway through effective staging of the works. This proactive mitigation minimised exposure and environmental risks to local flora and fauna.
Community Engagement: CMC personally engaged with local businesses, tailored initiatives to reduce disruption, and sustained positive relationships throughout the project.
CCF Earth Words National Winner: CMC proudly received the prestigious Earth Award from the Civil Contractors Federation (CCF) Queensland for Excellence in Civil Construction (Project Value $2 million to $10 million). Following this, we also secured the National CCF Earth Award.
