TMR engaged CMC under a Construct Only contract to deliver the Carnarvon Highway 24E Pavement Strengthening. This project was located 40 km south of Rolleston and involved the upgrade of a 3.5 kilometre stretch of highway over a six-month period. Works included shoulder widening, culvert installation and extension, unbound replacement of existing pavements, stabilising and sealing works.
Environmental: There were no reportable incidents, even with the project having experienced an unusually high amount of wet weather. More than 3 months of wet weather delays were recorded on the project.
Safety: No incidents of significance occurred, and CMC was commended on the high level of safety compliance achieved.
