Congratulations to our CSQ Excellence Awards finalists
On Friday 13 November 2015, staff from CMC attended the annual CSQ Excellence Awards at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, South Bank.
The awards celebrate and acknowledge the industry’s apprentices, trainees, schools, trainers, professionals, training organisations and employers who are committed to training and skills development.
CMC had been recognised as a finalist in three of the categories.
- Orbus3 Award for Employer Commitment to Training – Civil Construction
- Civil Contractors Federation Award for Construction Professional of the Year – Greg Hopkins
- Construction Trainee of the Year – Harvey Neville
CMC’s managing director, Peter Kendall said that while our finalists didn’t win on the night, it was a great achievement to have been represented so strongly across three of the categories.
“CMC has a long tradition of training and upskilling our staff, and I congratulate Greg Hopkins and Harvey Neville for their achievement as finalists within their categories,” Mr Kendall said.
“I also would like to thank the people within our business who manage the training program to ensure that we continue to sustain our commitment to training and building a team of industry-best professionals.”
A little about our finalists.
Greg Hopkins has worked with CMC since 2012 and is currently engaged on our Mein Deviation project in Far North Queensland. He brings almost 30 years’ experience to his role as superintendent and is passionate about training and mentoring young trainees and apprentices. Greg is currently undertaking additional units within his Diploma of Project Management to become a member of Project Managers Australia.
Harvey Neville joined CMC in Year 11 when he commenced a school based apprenticeship with the business. He has since completed his apprenticeship, and is currently enrolled to complete a Cert III Civil Construction Road Construction and Maintenance course. Harvey has worked on several of our projects in Central Queensland.
We look forward to 2016 when we will be able to recognise the achievements and commitment of our staff at the CSQ Excellence Awards.
