The primary purpose of this role is to ensure the accurate and timely in-house payroll production on a fortnightly basis, in accordance with statutory regulations, as well as ensuring the accurate and timely administration of accounts payable on a daily basis. The function also involves providing support to the Financial Controller and HR Manager from time to time.

The key responsibilities include:

Payroll

• Managing the Vista by Viewpoint Payroll/HR database;
• Full end to end payroll processing within Vista, including reconciling to the General Ledger and Job costs;
• Maintain and lodge Single Touch Payroll;
• Maintain employee files;
• Provide advice and assistance in all payroll related issues and queries including superannuation, workers compensation, LAFHA, NES and award/enterprise agreement;
• Generate and administer monthly/annual reports and statutory payments;
• Calculate and process Payroll Tax lodgements;
• Calculate and lodge Workers Compensation wages returns;
• Annual reporting including payroll reconciliation and end of year reports.

Accounts

• Accurately entering invoices into Vista by Viewpoint within service level agreed timeframes;
• Ensure all invoices are allocated to the correct project/department;
• Reconciling supplier statements;
• Answering supplier queries;
• Assist Accounts Supervisor as directed.

The ideal candidate will have the following experience:

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in end to end payroll processing;
• Experience in accounts payable administration;
• Experience with Vista by Viewpoint would be advantageous;
• Strong numerical skills;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
• A keen eye for detail, the ability to take initiative and a problem-solving nature;
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality;
• Be self-directed and a team player;
• Experience in the construction industry would be beneficial
