CMC worked with TMR to upgrade the Gooding Drive roundabout as part of the Queensland Government’s $160.7 million Commonwealth Games Road network improvement works.
CMC’s scope of work consisted of upgrading the eastern approach as well as the circulatory carriageway on the southern section, including a left turn slip lane along Nerang-Broadbeach Road (southbound carriageway), the introduction of a left turn slip lane between Gooding Drive and Nerang-Broadbeach Road (west to north), and installation of traffic signals at the Palm Meadows Drive intersection.
Economic: The project was successfully delivered in time for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games, providing overall network benefits and higher capacity.
Safety: The installation of traffic signals and accommodation of additional traffic flow enhanced safety for motorists, and pedestrian and cyclists’ connections were greatly improved.
