CMC was awarded the Banana Shire Restoration works as part of the Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangement (NDRRA). The Federal Government established NDRRA to alleviate the financial burden on the states and to facilitate the early provision of assistance to disaster affected communities.
CMC commenced construction in mid-August 2018, with a scheduled project completion set for November 2018. Following the delivery of the initial scope of works, CMC received a variation to complete additional stabilisation and sealing works to the value of $4.1 million. The total project including the additional scope received, covered a road network in the region of over 600 kilometres.
