Paradise Dam is a critical water infrastructure asset for Queensland’s Wide Bay–Burnett region. After sustaining damage during Tropical Cyclone Oswald in 2013, investigations identified the need for major upgrades.
As part of ‘Package 1’ of the PDIP, CMC delivered extensive road and civil infrastructure upgrades to support future dam construction works. The scope included horizontal realignments, vertical reprofiling, pavement widening, access improvements, drainage upgrades, and bitumen surfacing.
Innovation: Applied subgrade stabilisation treatments to enhance durability and efficiency and installed solar-powered traffic sensors.
Local Employment & Training: Engaged local subcontractors and supported workforce development through traineeships and apprenticeships.
