CMC is working with the Ilfracombe community and Drought Angels to support the Burrumbuttock Hay Runners: an event that will see a convoy of over 200 trucks arrive in Ilfracombe on 1 April with donated hay for the drought affected communities of Central Queensland.
Truck drivers from Queensland, NSW, Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania have volunteered to make the 1,860 kilometre journey from the NSW town of Burrumbuttock, to Ilfracombe, where the hay will be unloaded and distributed to drought stricken properties.
The Burrumbuttock Hay Runners charity eases hardships for Queensland communities that have been devastated by ongoing drought. In towns such as Ilfracombe, there is very little water and limited fresh fruit and vegetables available. Farms have been completely destocked, and many families left without an income. The Burrumbuttock Hay Runners charity not only delivers feed for stock, but it provides families with prepaid Visa cards and food hampers.
CMC has been working in Central Queensland since the company’s inception. We remain passionate and committed to supporting local communities through direct sponsorships and donations, and by participating and contributing to a number of charities like the Burrumbuttock Hay Runners.
